Things to do at Blenheim in 2019

Where did the last year go? We’re already halfway through January so we thought, given that we are one of the closest hotels near Blenheim Palace, it is only right to share all the goings-on from now until April.

Art and the Churchill Family’ Exhibition

Most of us know the history between the Churchill family and Blenheim, that is why it is so fitting that a collection of Churchill’s original paintings should be on display this year. Many works were painted whilst Churchill was on holiday (in the South of France and Morocco, naturally!) This is one exhibition that you won’t want to miss, especially given that it is held in his birth place.10th February - 22nd April 2019

Restoration & Conservation Tours

Visitors to stately homes and historic properties all dream of two things; what did the space really look like years ago, and what goes into a deep clean? Well, visitors will have the chance to learn all about this process – for the longest time Blenheim’s doors remained closed but you can now enjoy a guide-led tour and see the old and new techniques used to preserve the collections. This is a rare opportunity indeed and one any history lover will truly enjoy.8th January - 10th February 2019

The Young Turner

Enjoy the artist's first commissions and most celebrated works; this exhibition will be focusing on architecture and perspective. With many on loan from the Ashmolean Museum, you will also be able to see works from the Tate and private collections. There will even be Turner’s first sketchbook!16th February – 22nd April 2019

CADA Antiques Fair

Do you love antiques? Be prepared to meet over thirty dealers at the eighth annual CADA Fair. There will be more than we can list available to purchase (think the likes of furniture, pictures, silver, , bronze, clocks, textiles, jewellery and more!) Prices range from £100 - £100,000 plus, so don’t forget your cheque book...21st - 24th February 2019
